Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Finance Specialist is responsible for implementing departmental policies and procedures pertaining to accounts payable, fixed assets, and financial reporting. The specialist is expected to ensure financial controls are effectively executed as per the initial designs recommended by management.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.

  • Conducts day-to-day transactional processing and reporting on taxation.

  • Disburses petty cash by recording entries and verifying documentation.

  • Ensures that payments are made securely via the system and that payments are made to the intended recipients.

  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.

  • Monitors all related payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.

  • Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances.

  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation; and issuing stop payments or purchase order amendments.

  • Prepares, validates, and submits the monthly and quarterly VAT returns for the KSA entities.

  • Provides accounting and clerical support to ensure that financial transactions are in compliance with VAT regulations.

  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

  • Reports VAT taxes by calculating requirements on invoked services.

  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

  • Works with E-Invoicing laws in KSA and updates management on any changes.

  • Prepares Withholding Tax (WHT) reports monthly following the ZATCA (GAZT) regulations.

Financial Control

  • Documents review results pertaining to the execution of specific financial controls.

  • Ensures effective compliance with policies and procedures pertaining to allocated areas.

  • Generates allocated financial control reports on a periodic basis and ensures effective compliance.

  • Implements applicable procedures that ensure internal controls over financial reporting are effectively designed and executed.

 

Professional Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

  • Professional Certificate in Finance Management; SOCPA Fellowship Certificate is preferred.

Job experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Finance or the Accounting field.
